CppTest is a portable and powerful, yet simple, unit testing framework for handling automated tests in C++. This version is a maintenance release concerning the configuration tools only. and the addition of a more flexible way of handling the pkg-config file. The library itself is not affected.
The goal of the LTP is to deliver a suite of automated testing tools for Linux as well as publishing the results of tests. The new version simplifies code layout, and all tools under lib/ directory are standalone and reusable, all configurable variables are under the file runkdump.conf. There are also included sample configuration files for different distros and test components. Eviware, the soapUI company, and PushToTest announced a new partnership to build advanced integration between soapUI Pro and PushToTest and to sell and support test automation solutions in the USA and Canadian marketplaces. The partnership delivers solutions to enterprises that are challenged to surface performance and scalability issues with load and performance test automation, regression test automation, and business service monitoring solutions.
Many mid-size and large enterprises use soapUI to read Web Service Description Language (WSDL) documents and in a few clicks of the mouse write a multi-step test suite. PushToTest runs these tests in a test lab of 10 servers to generate 2,000 concurrently running test suites. PushToTest results analysis reports then show an application environment’s scalability index to help plan for hardware purchases and network bandwidth needs and find the root cause to performance problems. PushToTest then repurposes soapUI tests into Business Service Monitors (BSM) with no additional programming.
Under the agreement Eviware and PushToTest intend to deliver:
- Advanced integration for Web Service test automation. While PushToTest version 5 currently integrates and bundles soapUI 2, Eviware and PushToTest will build deeper integration to provide support for Mock Services (virtualized services for testing,)
advanced reporting for soapUI test suites, and Repository and Scheduler functions for soapUI test suites into upcoming product
releases.
- PushToTest to build Eclipse plug-in with advanced integration with soapUI Eclipse Plug-in.
benerator is the leading open source test data generator. Creating a valid amount of realistic load test data is essential for any serious load and performance testing.
As of release 0.4.0 benerator incorporates mature and comfortable generation capabilities for relational data, providing convenient database configuration and primary key generation, script support in generators and all import file formats (csv, flat, DbUnit), as well as a staging concept. Especially the script feature is a great improvement in generating random data with multi-field constraints. Furthermore, central concepts were extended for generation of hierarchical data, like dependent data in databases or nested data structures like XML.

Bugzilla 3.1.3 is unstable, and should not be used in production environments. However, users are encouraged to test it and report bugs.
NUnitAsp extends the popular NUnit testing framework to allow automated testing of ASP.NET web applications. The project owner has just announced that he is no longer maintaining or supporting the tool. Please follow the link below for the full rationale.
The following is an excerpt from Jim’s post:
“If you would like to take over development of NUnitAsp, and you have name recognition in the community, I will be happy to hand it over to you. If I don’t recognize you, feel free to fork the code. When your fork is successful, let me know, and I will give you the keys to the “official” project. NUnitAsp still gets between one and two thousand downloads per month, so it’s not quite dead yet.”
